Millet

Millets are small-grained, annual, warm-weather cereals belonging to the grass family. They are highly tolerant of drought and other extreme weather conditions and have a similar nutrient content to other major cereals. Millet is an ancient grain widely grown and consumed in Africa and Asia.

Millet is a palatable alternative to wheat-gluten-flours but it should be consumed in moderation (like anything!) It’s also important to note that research indicates that millet may play a detrimental role in thyroid health. People with thyroid disease should get guidance about consuming millet from healthcare professional (https://www.beyondceliac.org/gluten-free-diet/is-it-gluten-free/millet/; and https://www.thehealthyhomeeconomist.com/beware-of-millet/)
