Health is Wealth ╭დ

This corner of the pantry is inspired by my husband’s miraculous journey back to health after developing myocarditis as a result of a viral infection in 2019.  To say we were all overwhelmed when his health took a turn for the very worst is an understatement!  He was in peak physical condition and ‘living the dream’.   The resulting heart inflammation led to multiple (18+) cardiac arrests and months in hospital until he was eventually diagnosed with a condition called cardiac sarcoidosis.  Prayers and support came from every corner and held us through those turbulent days.

Make no mistake, modern medicine and pharmaceuticals saved his life, and he will likely be on pharmaceutical meds for the rest of his life but certainly today he is back on (his surf) board.   Natural medicine by way of minerals and diet have also helped him immensely and we believe have been a major supporting role.  He follows the gold standard of anti-inflammatory diets, a lectin free diet researched and developed by Dr Steve Gundry, surely among the angels in our midst.  You can read more about that plus some links to various forums, in this blog post: It’s much deeper than gluten-free, and other mentions all over this site.  I encourage you to do your research further.

Natural medicine is God’s Gift to us.  I pray and look forward to the day when integrative-medicine is practiced and both streams are used in the treatment of dis-ease.  In South Africa our family doctor was a qualified MD and Homeopath and my mom’s doctor is an academic doctor that can prescribe naturophathics and refer to specialists, increasing the avenues of choice for the best results back to wellness.

The available and showcased products on this ‘shelf’ are tried and tested by DH.  But I cannot stress enough how important it is to research all nature of medicine, both herbal and pharmaceutical, that you or a loved one are taking.   As an example, there are many natural remedies and even foods that can result in deadly adverse effects if taken with the pharmaceutical meds that my husband is on –  he has to avoid licourice, and white potatoes eaten over a few days once sent his potassium levels to the highest tipping point that would’ve been detrimental had his doctor not picked it up in his pathology – fortunatley, because of our disciplined approach I could easily narrow down that the only change had been an introduction of white potato.
